i went to a talk by the walking with the wounded south pole soldiers last week
they were talking about the lodge out in the antarctic which is manned by a couple of huge burly russians, who basically see nothing but snow and wind 24/7, apart from occasional crew staying there. they said that these massive russians survive on "vodka, pig fat, and lots and lots of porn."
