I would be more worried about why it burnt out
That is what fuses and circuit breakers are for. If there is a surge taking out the wiring get the fuck out of the house,.

might not be a surge,
but yes, it does indicate that if it's before the fuse board that there is a serious problem. after the fuse board, it's a faulty breaker. And they are a lot more common than anyone would have you believe.

Hence me saying get out of the house, if its before the main board and direct from the mains feed into the house then it is shit yourself time as I have seen "WALLS OF DEATH" carrying current, faulty breaker yeah maybe

Can't be a faulty breaker.
Since they're old and just use wire.

That's not to say that someone might have used the wrong gauge in one of the fuses though. I've only replaced the downstairs lighting loop as one of the lights shorted (which I then removed).
