i'm at work
i'm starving
the vending machine has crisps and tracker bars
the only coins i have are 2 x £1 coins
for some reason, the machine HATES my £1 coins and WON'T TAKE THEM
i've tried scrubbing them on the side of the machine and it didn't work
it's sunday in the city. the nearest shop is miles away
i could grovel to the security guard to let me into the pantry but that's always a bit needy and only worth doing for after hours booze
what do i doooooooooooo?

1) it's not Sunday.
2)London has shops, shitloads of them. Possibly; no, definitely the highest shop density in Britain.

i've been at my desk for too long
but honestly, saturday, sunday - makes no difference around here, it's a graveyard at weekends. the nearest open shop is at least 5 minutes away on foot. MILES AWAY.

you'd be bored shitless too if you were stuck here drafting long tedious witness statements
but i am cross about the vending machine. WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY POUND COINS?

A stupidly high proportion of pound coins in circulation are counterfeit.
Something like between 3 and 5%.

why would you bother?
you'd have to make literally hundreds of thousands for it to be worthwhile.
