That would depend on how quickly the earth stoppedIf it was gradual we wouldn't really notice it apart from the weather getting more fucked. The mass of the earth would still create gravity. Also the rotational speed is something like 1600 kmph while the escape velocity is around 40,000 kmph so we wouldn't fly off you might get dragged along though...
