b3ta bash memories
BGB and I are on the train again. Just wanted to say what a fantastic time we had last night!
I'll post more later from a computer as this iPod is annoying to type on.
EDIT: okay, we're back home.
I really want to thank everyone who showed up. As I said several times last night- Davros Grandad is right. I have yet to meet a b3tan that I didn't instantly click with and really like. From the belming contest with DG and Tourettes and Boss Keloid to giving althegeordie a huge public hug to standing outside with the smokers, it's been a fantastic time.
And most importantly of all, I really owe an enormous debt to BGB for being the best hostess and tour guide anyone could ever ask for.
If any of you lot manage to get over to the States, PLEASE come to the east coast! If you're within a six hour drive of Richmond I'll come and find you and have a beer. (That translates to anywhere from New Jersey to South Carolina and as far west as Ohio and Kentucky, btw.) And if you can make it to Richmond I'll take you on a tour of some of my favorite spots there- and buy you beer.

I wish I'd made the bash
I never even made it to the school open evening I was supposed to attend - too busy lying in bed attempting to die from a kidney infection.
Clearly I was unsuccessful, but I still wish I'd caught up with you two in London!

I wish you could have been there as well
but I'm relieved to know that you're doing all right- when I heard of your kidney troubles I got a bit worried.
I won't post the few pics I shot as I was threatened with dire consequences by two people if I did, but I will post a link to the pics I shot of the Lake District after I get home and can download them all. This week I've shot about 250 photos! (Don't worry, I'll only upload part of them.)
I do hope to see you and PJM again soon, though...

If you do make that drive
let me know and we'll meet up somehow.
As for the QOTW clique- as far as I know it doesn't exist. Cliques try to exclude others. We tend to welcome new faces as long as they're pleasant and play nicely with others. Last night I met a couple of people who are more or less lurkers, and they were welcomed right into the group just as much as the more prominent posters. If there's been clique-like behavior, I haven't seen it or heard of it. For what that's worth...

Hi
Nice to meet you too!
I just might take you up on that offer, The company I'm about to start working for is headquatered in NY so I'll probably end up hitting the east coast eventually.
Oh, and you have full permission to upload bad photos of me, there are already lots in the b3ta flickr pool so a couple more won't hurt!
Have fun the rest of your visit & get home safe.

I had a good time too
Was nice meeting you too Mr. Loon, and also everyone else - especially the ones I haven't met before.
I think that if there's more than a certain number of people at a bash, you spend so much time flitting from one conversation to another that you only have an in-depth conversation with a few people. Even though I've been to two bashes with Devil In Tights, I've still not spoken to him properly.
BTW: I'll upload my photos when I create a flickr account. Is there anyone who does not want pics of themselves at a b3ta-bash posted online?
