Wednesday - the worst day of the week
Am I alone in believing that Wednesday is the worst day of the week? You've had to make it through a Monday, struggled through the ensuing Tuesday, and yet you still have a WHOLE 2 days left before the weekend.

Opinions anyone?

Urghh. Today is dragging.

Nah...
Mondays are worse.
Wednesday means you're half-way to the weekend.

Mondays mean you're got the whole damn week stretching ahead of you.

There does seem to be an increasing trend towards
Wednesday being "the new Friday."

Which means, working backwards, that Tuesday is "the new Thursday," and thus Monday "the new Wednesday." Which is already "the new Friday", so it's okay to go out on Monday night as well, it being a "new Friday."

If you regress this one back far enough, eventually every day of the week is the new Friday and you have no sleep or liver.

wednesdays are the worst day
and have been ever since i opened my shiny new timetable at my shiny new senior school and saw:

double maths
BREAK
double physics
LUNCH
swimming (fine in itself but NOT at school!)
geography
woodwork

wednesdays were such doom that i remember how grim they were 19 years later... can't remember what my boss said 19 minutes ago, but wednesdays are indelible!

Now
I am picturing a school aged Rachelswipe in her swimming costume.

Wednesday is becoming good.

Wednesdays are shit
We have outbound deliveries of casework Thursday morning, meaning the deadline for work is a Wednesday.

Which means it's shit.

...
I've been allergic to Thursdays since 1999. They're horrible.

@rachelswipe
That sounds like my ideal school day; all of those subjects were the ones I found the easiest and most interesting save swimming, from which I was excused for not being able to swim. We went to the local sports centre to play squash instead.

Wednesdays are good, for they are my midweek lull day. The rush at the beginning of the week is over and the cruise to the weekend is about to commence.

I despise Monday Tuesday and Wednesday all equally.

If I had to pick one to hate though Monday edges it simply because of the alarm-clock moment at 8 am when I would do absolutely anything for just 5 more minutes...

Thursdays are good though as I have sevens football in the evening followed by one or two drammies in the pub afterwards.

al
i quote myself from the other day... "i was ELEVEN. you disgust me." also, the swimming costume was neck high, saggy black with horrid gold piping. if they could have made us wear floor length ones, i am sure they would.

then there was the horrendous occasion when i was about 17 and i'd packed my old swimming costume by mistake. it was not a good look. i had the choice of appearing in it in public, or telling lies about mythical periods to the fittest male teacher in the world.

@ thomson - no no no, those subjects are evil! although squash is great. bring on teh english and teh art!

I'm taking Friday off
and usually work only until 12 on Fridays, so it's only 1.5 days to go.

I feel sad on Sunday evenings, but when the week starts again it's not that bad.

I've always said that
and people look at you with the disdain they usually save for rapists.

Wednesdays are rubbish! I hate that "in the middle" feeling. it's like the week-based version of having your knickers up your bum.

wednesday
is known as hump day where I come from... the middle of the week, and it is all downhill once you get past it.

I have a friend
(who tries very hard not to be a freak and therefore will never read b3ta) who thinks Saturdays are the worst days, because it's only another 2 days at most to start working again.

She's not very optimistic.

It was...
Thank you thank you thank you. At least now I think I'm fairly safe in assuming that I'm not alone in my distrust of Wednesday.

And yes, it did turn out to be pretty shitty.

But it's Thursday now, so I can breathe a big sigh of relief!
