Pomegranetes
quite possibly the stupidest question I have ever asked but hey ho
Are you supposed to eat pomegranate seeds or spit them, is there an etiquette to eating pomegranates?

I like to crunch through them. No doubt they are great for the old bowel movements.
But still something tells me as they grind off my teeth that they aren't quite edible. As in, if it was time-feasible you would spit them out one at a time but being so lazy as humans we don't....
Fucking awesome they are - although the yellowy inner skin stuff scares me..

I can't remember
the last time I had a pomegranite.
I want one now! Although I always end up thinking they are more trouble than they are worth... they spit in your eye and don't taste quite as good as they promise to.
I tend to crunch up the seeds too but you're right, they have something about them which seems to warn us off eating them. Ah well. I haven't grown a pomegranite tree in my tummy yet.

I've only ever eaten the seeds
not the other bit....
if you eat them all you get carried off to Hades though, like Persephone (I think)

Just as long
as you don't get dragged down to Hades after eating 6 of the seeds, you should be fine. That's how Persephone brought about Autumn/Winter, after all.
EDIT: Vipros got there first, dammit!
/gets geek-coat...

Isn't the inside of one of those things 90% seeds anyway
So I don't see how you have much choice

Pomegranetes and artichokes and blokes.
Lots of effort for little return.

I beat them firmly with the back of a spoon
so that they scatter their seed over my homemade meringue and whipped cream.
Their jewel-like appearance is truly spectacular for the festive season.
An extra point if you know where I got that from

Well done Ms Blouse!
I've made her pomegranate meringue many times now - it's ace.
