November 18, 2007
My friends and I went out "for dinner". We met a friend at the pub. Friend asks if I want a drink. I say yes. "You're going to need it" she says, and points to my mum, her boyfriend and two family friends. They came out to surprise me.

They left November 27th, which happens to be Thanksgiving day this year, which I have to either spend alone or go to the bosses house.

That was the last time I saw her. I miss her so much. Can I just cancel this year?

Yes you can.
*hugs*

I better ring my mum and tell her I love her.

While no-one would blame you for doing so at all, if you weren't there, what would you be doing?

This is just an outside opinion, but I think just sitting thinking about things is going to somehow make them feel even worse.

Embrace Thanksgiving
It's always seemed to me a time Americans are at their best. As you're part of that now, take the opportunity to spend some quality time with those that care enough to offer you somewhere to hang out.

When I went abroad, I missed my family terribly, but becoming part of the culture really helped.
