I'm writing up a case log for work - my first ever wooooo - and was wondering if anyone knows how to get the degrees symbol (as in 38 degrees celcius)so I don't have to keep copying and pasting it from websites.

insert - symbol and you'll have to scroll through a bit to find it but then it will appear in the "recently used" so it will be easier to find :)
It's in Latin-1 apparently

and, you can also make a shortcut key for it at the same time (like Alt + 0 for example)

I wasn't sure if there was a combination on keys I'd need to press, but that's just as good.

I don't think M$ likes alt shortcuts though so probably best to go with ctrl+0

The following works in nearly all applications:
Hold the left alt ket and type 248 on the number pad at the right.

alt + 0
On a similar note, how do you write a ÷ on a pc? on a Mac it's alt + /

@mike woz ere
but make sure NUM-LOCK is enabled.
@Mrs L.
When NUM-LOCK is enabled, while holding down left-ALT, type '0247'.
@Everyone
If in doubt, copy and paste the symbol into wikipedia to look it up. It might give you the ALT-code for it.
