Driving me fucking crackers
I'd been hearing a song on the radio for weeks and it was driving me crackers because it sounded like an 80's rock song. Something like John Parr's St Elmo's Fire crossed with something by Survivor.

It wasn't. It was Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon. I was convinced it was some 80's rock song.

Anybody else see what I'm getting at? Or am I just a bit mad for making such a ridiculous comparison.

No, I thought
the same thing.

They started out promising..
..then found their money-making niche in 80s easy listening disguised as edgy new-wave trendiness. Like redneck Chris de Burghs. Shame. I like them when they were mostly in their teens. Perhaps it was a case of too much, too young.

And that song irrtates the crap out of me. There's are a few songs that get me whacking they hell out of the off button on the radio and that is one of them.

Although I might now put on my vinyl copy of their early single "the bucket" to see if it still stands up.

I'll tell you what
musically speaking, the Eighties seem to be BACK. Case in point, Ladyhawke.

If you
visit Romania, specifically Bucharest, you'll find that the 80s are alive and well.

Pet Shop Boys, Human league and BIG Perms are the norm!

That's because they're twenty years behind us, full stop.
