They were fucking blatant too! One actually managed to pick my wallet (end of a night out so only slummy left, thankfully).

Got his just deserts though when he wasn't quick enough to get away from me...

is fucking hideous and depressing for pickpockets. I got my 1500 Euro reflex camera and telephoto lens stolen a few weeks ago. From off my fucking knees?! How do they do it?! They is Doctor Who!


Worst thing is, I've been there loads of time living just down the coast and I knew it was like that. I was being so careful of my fecking wallet they got my camera instead :(

I'm the only woman in the world who fails at multi-tasking I reckon.

I saw a guy being chased down the street and getting the absolute shite kicked out of him for stealing a wallet.
2 days later I saw the same guy, with cuts and bruises, begging on the street (english crusty) and claiming he was a tourist who was robbed. It gave me great pleasure in announcing to everyone.
"this man is a fraud, a charlatan. He is in fact a petty thief who I saw being beaten by one of his victims 2 days ago"

Fucking cunts aren't they. You can be as careful as you like but they'll still find a way. It's easy enough to say "avoid the touristy parts" but that's where most want to go.

I'm going back there in July and am going to be prepared, got a dummy wallet that will be full on spanish insults printed on business cards, and i'm going to get a chain for my real wallet.
