I've found a new cool band.
Check them out. Having a classically trained opera singer at the front of a schlock metal band is making me chuckle, but they're actually pretty damn good.

(Okay, so the Diablo Swing Orchestra isn't really a new band, but they're new to me.)

I've
got a couple of their albums.

I don't know whether it's just me, but I've always detected heavy King Crimson influences in their music.

Really?
I'll have to consider that as I listen to them.

They're actually very good musicians, almost surprisingly so. Kinda like Southern Culture On The Skids.

I've been looking
and I can't find their first CD for sale.

Dammit.

EDIT: Nevermind, the tracks on that one are on the current one.

I'm trying to remember who recommended
Conjure One, I tried them on Spotify and I quite like them.

EDIT: Looks like DSO are on Candlelight along with Olivia Sperati - Norwegian all-girl doom metal band. Might be up your alley. :)

@ LiC
Not a bad label, Candlelight.

I'm quite liking Sirenia at the minute on the female-fronted metal front.

they are good!
I've punted them around to a few mates as well.

That sort of thing can so often go wrong, but they've done a fine job of mixing a lot of random styles of music.

thanks Loon!

On a quick sample
I like, but then again I like horrorpops, tiger army and nekromantiks so that's no surprise. Well done.
