But.. he's quite high up so they'll probably just laugh and pat him on the back. Bah. Men in high positions are fucking turds.
I'll speak to my boss, see what he says...

Nothing like a bit of internet theatre on a Wednesday afternoon :)

But I can show you in a Gaz. This isn't for pervy purposes though, right? :)
Oh, and I'll keep you updated once I manage to speak to my boss!

that's not on - speak to your boss about it. Or - alternatively - confront the obviously cockless bastard.

although they are usually a bunch of incompetant cretins, they may be able to help.

Seriously though, even if you don't report it in this instance, keep a record of it - it might prove useful if anything else happens.

Thanks for your messages. I'm glad you all seem to find it as seriously horrible as I did. I actually feel gross, my skin is crawling.
Boss reckons that we do as Fredz has suggested in this case; keep quiet, save the evidence and just ignore it. He says sometimes people make silly mistakes and to be calm. He was suitably disgusted though. He says "Once is a mistake, twice is a case for moving things forward to a higher power". Makes sense, I guess.
Doesn't stop me waiting to shower in bleach and gouge my eyes out with a toothpick, though.

that e-mail is gold dust.
Hold onto it, print it out just in case said colleague persuades the sysadmins to delete it. If your name is mentioned in the e-mail even better, he can't claim he meant to send it to someone else.
If anything happens to your job in the next 6 months, that's an HR case for sexual harassment there and then.
If he does anything else to you, go to HR straight away.
Men - they're (mostly) bastards.

My tongue in cheek response is "how much cash?" however, I sense the tone of the email was more sleazy than lighthearted.
In this case I'd take it straight to HR... Or your manager. How well do you know this person?

You might want to mention it to your union rep also, just to cover all the bases so to speak. Let's face it, you shouldn't have to put up with that kind of shite in the workplace

Isn't it poignant how FTW and WTF are as close as love and hate?
Nope? Just me then. Taxi..!

Take copies, send the email to your personal webmail account, print off a copy, save a copy to a disc. Anything further, take it all up to HR and demand something gets done about it or you're going to court.
You've got his job in your hands, right there.
(, Wed 8 Apr 2009, 12:49, Reply)
Cause unless you do he can claim he didn't know you found it unacceptable if it happens again
(, Wed 8 Apr 2009, 12:59, Reply)
I haven't responded to it. I don't want to give him more cause for ammunition and / or excuses. I will be seeing him in person in around one month though so I will be telling him I don't appreciate that kind of crap and in future he will be dealt with accordingly as you lovely people have suggested. That will also include a swift kick to the knackers depending on his immediate response.
Oh, and Mr Oli - I like that. It's so true.
Oh, big hugs you guys. Thanks for all your supportive messages. It's nice to know I'm not overreacting.

Make sure you keep the e-mail. That wy if it does happen again you can use it as evidence.
(, Wed 8 Apr 2009, 15:24, Reply)
he could just be an amateur photographer looking for a model.
Depends how leery the original message was I suppose. You could also just take it on the chin and not let things like this bother you. Hardly the end of the world, eh?
