I adore Ade Edmondson and Rik Mayall. Their collaboration has spanned decades, they've made some of the most clunky and amateurish yet charmingly outrageous comedy to ever come out of this country.
What's your favourite double act, and why?

I use to have a crush on Eric Morcambe when I was a young teenager and he was funny as fuck.

they used to crack me up when I was wee.
But I watch it now and it's not the same. Mind you, I'm the same with Bottom and The Young Ones, so that's not saying much.

The Andre Previn sketch is still my favourite comedy moment.

Their sketch show was absolutely fucking hilarious throughout and has aged brilliantly - something I was disappointed not to feel about The Young Ones when I gave it another go recently. There's Two Ronnies style word play, physical comedy and some absolutely mental surrealism at times.
Unashamedly middle class comedy from a time when ghastly boors like Ben Elton were the big news, but not remotely pompous or elitist - just very clever and very, very funny.

Not sure if that qualifies but the scripts were perfect and the delivery sublime. Often too sad to laugh at but brilliant.

They just crack me up, especially the old stuff.
From the Smell of... Lloyd Grossman's Masterchef with the tolling bell has to be one of my all-time favourites. Here it is if anyone doesn't remember it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=towd9vZWDJg
And Shooting Stars (first series) was always good for a belly-laugh.
Oh, and I'd do Vic. Ahem.

I enjoyed all the Shooting Stars series although the later ones haven't really hit the same highs.
Families At War was also cracking for a Saturday night - I AM THE SPIDER!
And of course the irrepressible Smell Of...

with honourable mentions to the Two Ronnies and Lee and Herring (although the former beats the latter by some margin)
Lee and Herring were part of my formative years, so I love them for introducing me to dry, surreal comedy. The Two Ronnies are timeless.
Vic: "Ulrika!"
Ulrika: "What?"
Vic: "Catch it!" *throws matchbox to Ulrika*
Ulrika: "What's inside it?" *opens it*
Vic: "Cat Shit"

although Badiel and Skinner too later on... such a pity they hated one another so much! (the former)
