Went to see my solicitor today to see how its progressing, as the Mortgage gumfth had been sent out and the house had been checked, we are cooking and eager to move in before the beer festival starts, wheee.

slight problem says the solicitor

Remarkably, the housing association and the sureveyors had such a monumental clusterfuck of incompetance they managed to survey the wrong fucking apartment, genius!!! now the whole thing starts again.

Im still quite calm about the whole thing which is scaring almost everyone around me

They should be providing you with a free survey and compensating you - unless the flat that they surveyed is exactly the same in which case, subject to the lenders approval, they might accept it.

My Solicitor is spitting feathers and demandign it gets sorted out yesterday. The housing association said they wanted it done within 6 weeks and i'll get a grand cash back, and so far the Housing association have delayed the purchase by 4 weeks!

Im going to ring them in the morning, could be fun....

It all boils down to the plot numbers and postal numbers were different, so I was buyiong plot 3, number 8. They then had a shuffle, and im buying plot 8 number 8.

They gave plot 3 number 3 keys to the surveyors, which isn't even in the same fucking block

Get onto the RICS - Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors - as soon as you can.

They are a VERY stringent organisation and take incompetence on the part of their members extremely seriously indeed.

EDIT - It's the surveyor's job to ensure that he/she is surveying the correct plot, regardless of plot reference changes.
