Ace.
Is that through Oxford Brookes? My brother did an HNC/D in marine engineering and found it a lot more useful than he would've done doing a full-on academic course.

Yes
It's administered through Oxford Brookes, although the actual course is run by Abingdon College. Looking around, I notice there are a lot more openings for HNC's than for Degree level students with better promotion prospects, if not as well paid at first. Tis a fun course too, if I can actually pass the bastard.

:)
Good for you. Abingdon, eh? I know/knew someone who lives relatively close to there.

I used to visit it often
when I had to go on trips to the Rutherford Appleton Lab. Their residence, Cosener's House, is in Abingdon, right down on the banks of the Thames.

One of my favourite Indian restaurants is there too, the Dil Raj.

Fantastic places that one
Lovely food. Not sure if it's open any more though.

Used to go past RAL on the bus to get to work in Didcot... it was interesting watching the Diamond being built. Now I want to see inside it, but they're not doing tours yet.

Agreed
The food was great.

I haven't been there for a couple of years, so I've no idea if it's still there.

Diamond is impressive. I've seen it close up now, but haven't yet been inside.
