I work on a showground
and this week we are having the National Funeral Show, with LIVE events on the weekend. It's all very exciting I'm devestated I won't be here.

I hope they have Honda Accord Hursts Hearses - fine I can't spell are you fucking happy now?

hursts
do you mean hearses?

(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:26, Reply)
Is this irony?
Or just wonderfully poetic justice?
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:30, Reply)
I have claimed
many times in the past I can't spell.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:32, Reply)
then surely your grammar fascism is showing double standards
poor spelling is worse than poor grammar in my opinion.

not that there is an excuse for either.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:33, Reply)
I wouldn't class my spelling
as "poor" just not perfect. Just as your grammar isn't always perfect.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:35, Reply)
Never said it was ;-)
I just said there was no excuse.

man, I've been in work for 40 minutes and it already sucks.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:41, Reply)

many times in the past, that I can't spell.

Surely?

*adjusts pedant hat*

*takes it off as this can only go horribly wrong later*

How was TGB's weekend then? Offline.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:34, Reply)
Yeah
I watched a lot of sport - F1 and tennis mainly. And the Apprentice. thought Kate should have won. Saw people, got drunk, cried over my bank balance and then got more drunk.

How was yoru weekend?
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:37, Reply)
I went to the cinema with another lady
I played board games with my neighbours and get very drunk and I went to a party and watched a curvaceous blonde dancing.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:38, Reply)
Did you like the film?
See what I mean about Evil Dead?
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:41, Reply)
I wasn't surprised
being as it was Raimi film. As I posted below I really enjoyed it, just the right balance of humour and scaryness.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:46, Reply)
Yeah, I agree.
It relied a lot on cheap scares, but in the context it worked.
And the goats too. Nicely done.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:48, Reply)
I wouldn't say they were cheap
It's a film about a gypsy cursing someone to be dragged to hell by a goat demon, it's not going to realistic. What Raimi did really well was ratcheting up the tension using just noises and good camera shots so that when something happened, even if it was just shadows, that made it really shocking as the tension got released.

Admittedly the bit in the shed was quite ridiculous, although you could argue it was a dream sequence, but it was so funny that I didn't mind.

The talking goat though, brilliant.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:51, Reply)
The goat was pure win, yeah!
I think that he relied pretty heavily on "making you jump" rather than "scaring the shit out of you", but that's a good thing, in my opinion.
The ending was great, and on the whole it made me laugh, lots.
Especially the cat-bit.
And the fight in the car.

I was very much entertained.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 10:00, Reply)
Oh I heard you were going to the cinema
with a very sexy lady. How was the film?
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:41, Reply)
It was both hilarious and scary
which I really liked. Plus the ending was good.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:45, Reply)
Did you jump
and scream like a little girl?
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:49, Reply)
I jumped
but there was no screaming. I didn't even grab Clendrix, which may have been a missed opportunity.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:52, Reply)
Definitely a missed opportunity
Shame on you.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 10:11, Reply)
Sorry
Next time I see her I will grab her extra hard to make up for this.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 10:15, Reply)

Wouldn't hearses be better?
Upon googling I was particularly struck by the fact that Sunday is Family Day at the National Funeral Exhibition. WTF?

This needs to be recorded
Anyone up for it?
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:54, Reply)
Morning folks
If I remember this post when making arrangements for my funeral I'll strongly consider getting somebody to make this jingle and play it, loudly, from the hearse that moves my corpse around.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:55, Reply)
Veto
I am getting your corpse stuffed, with a drawn on catface and if people press your nose I love Horses will start to play.
(, Mon 8 Jun 2009, 9:57, Reply)
