Woooo!
I have managed to get into work after many dramas!! I am slightly early... well... all the lights are off and there’s no one in sight but at least I can enjoy my toast in peace!?

I hope all you other London B3tans are not having too many problems or that you have decided to do the sensible thing and work from home!! :)

I wish :(
I've got to get home (Greenwich) from Heathrow at 2100 tonight. I'm SO screwed.

You'll be fine.
Just set off now!

National express do a door to door service
I think it's only something like £20 in London. Will try and find a link for you.

Thanks, that'd be ace.

I was offered an interview tomorrow afternoon in West London
I said It'd be highly unlikely that I could get there in time, so they've put it off til the tube strike is over. Granted I could get there by bus, but it would take around 2 hours.
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 8:23, Reply)
Yeah
Its just not worth the drama, you'd end up arriving all hot and bothered and it would just stress you out, which is really the last thing you want before an interview!
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 8:31, Reply)
And I'd smell of bus
*shudders*
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 8:37, Reply)
SHUT UP!
I'm about to take the 29 in to central London.

Aww
good luck, erm... godspeed and all that jazz!
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 8:39, Reply)
It's ok, the smell comes off
You'd just look a bit odd rushing to wash your hands for 10 minutes before shaking anyone's hand at an interview.
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 8:47, Reply)
I usually carry
a bottle of alcohol based hand gel when in London, to disinfect myself of London filth (as someone referred to it the other day).
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 8:49, Reply)
See that is a good idea
but I do worry about becoming too dependant on those sorts of things, I'd end up developing an OCD.

Since I've moved to London I think I've had two proper colds, I think the 'London filth' does wonders for a persons immune system, well, it does for mine anyway! Hehe
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 8:52, Reply)
Absolutely
Maybe it's a lack of pollen to get up your nose as well. But I reckon the black bogies bung you up and stop anything else coming out your nostrils.
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:20, Reply)
I don't like those hand gels
they dry your skin out and you're just rubbing the filth into your skin more. Nothing beats washing your hands properly.
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 8:54, Reply)
Hehe
Yes, that is the worst thing. Ewwww. I smell a little bit of bus this morning... booo! :(
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 8:39, Reply)
Walked from Victoria
to Regent's Park.

Took just under an hour. I may consider doing it through choice occassionally if the weather is good. (yeah, right, like that will happen).
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 8:43, Reply)
Hehe
That’s the thing, I just assume everything is miles away because I always travel on the tube. I thought Liverpool Street was a real bitch to get to from St Pauls, hahaha, its soooo easy it made me feel a little silly this morning, I should walk it all the time really!
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 8:46, Reply)
Agreed. I was always under the impression that Chancery Lane and Holborn were miles from each other
until I walked and it took me about 8 minutes :/
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:01, Reply)
For heaven's sake, you two!
Try rising above the ground sometimes.
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:16, Reply)
Hehe
I know, its shocking! I think its because its easier to jump on the cental line at St Pauls and be taken all the way home than it is to get a bit of exercise and walk to Bank or Liverpool Street and then get on the tube. I will admit that I am lazy!! :)
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:19, Reply)
Sorry miss ;)

Blimey
That is bad. I've always wondered why so many people get on at Chancery Lane and then off at Holborn, or on at Holborn and off at Chancery Lane. It makes me so angry, they take up too much room on the train and make Chancery Lane too busy. Grr!
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:23, Reply)
This whole tube strike thingy made me think
I've not been on a tube train since about 1994.

I realise there's really no answer to this, but there you go.
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 8:51, Reply)
There is an answer to this

(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:07, Reply)
And it involves
Willies, tits, fannies and bums
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:13, Reply)
Fucking loudmouths
I’m not in London but I had a foul journey into work this morning due to being accompanied by a sextet of braying, snooty know-it-all Durham University Music students (just finished degrees) who loudly held an unscheduled symposium on revenant atonality in early English music, why Jazz is better than modern pop culture, extremely bitchy deconstructions of fellow students (not present) and the shortcomings of their relevant departments. All in 15 minutes.

The worst of it was it was all my own fault as I had forgotten to recharge my MP3 player. Fucksocks.

i am currently on the 76
which is crawling past the Royal Courts of Justice at the moment. it is full of the unwashed masses.
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:03, Reply)
Just rolling up to St. Pauls
and just saw a cyclist ride into a fat bloke. Was very funny.
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:14, Reply)
Every 10th vehicle going past my flat is a double decker bus
and they're mostly empty.
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:06, Reply)
But you live in zone ten
with cows and sheep.
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:14, Reply)
Zone 3 with cats and nice normal people
It's only when I go to college that I have cows and sheep.
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:19, Reply)
The Northern Line is still running
if you're near that. Could explain it.
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:24, Reply)
That's my line
powered by cows and sheep. Hence why it's running today
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:30, Reply)
A woo-yay
for renewable energy then.
(, Wed 10 Jun 2009, 9:32, Reply)
Work told me
that the important meeting I needed to attend wasn't important enough to struggle across London for. I'm going fishing instead.
