I've had some serious doubts about my life choices lately. I've realised that I have a pretty rubbish job and a pretty rubbish flat with a
Wait! Come back! I'm not here to whinge!
Basically, a friend of mine has revealed her plans to me: when September rolls around she's going to work as a chef on a cruise ship, and she reckons she can put in a good word for me for a bar job. I've been a cocktail waiter/barman before, and I'm pretty good at it (there really is more to it than just pouring beer).
I just wondered if anyone here had done anything like this? Is the pay that good? Is it really that much fun? What's to be expected from spending 6 months on a cruise ship serving mojitos to gold-plated permatanned coffin-dodgers with yellow hair and visible chest wigs*?
*possibly.

rent your flat out and go for it, what is there to lose?
unless you get seasick, it sinks, the whole cruise gets a vomitting bug, you get hijacked by pirates

What have you got to lose? You'll travel, have somewhere to sleep and it'll be an adventure!
Go for it.

Just make sure you have a back-up plan. Even if it's a friend's sofa. If you felt you had burnt your bridges and would be in a complete jam if it didn't work, then it'd be too much pressure and you might not enjoy it. If you know there's always the option of flying home from the next destination you drop anchor at, then you'll be more relaxed, and you'll probably love it!

You'll be making good money, having fun and all in all it sounds pretty damn good!

he had the best time as all the staff were around his age and they didn't have that much contact with the oxygen thieves unless they wanted to.

Worked as a croupier for 18 months on the ships.
I cant remember a thing about it. It was THAT good. The only thing I do know is that I got more sex than is healthy for a 20 year old. Which is a lot. And I'm no gods gift.
Having difficulty making your mind up now?
If you dont go, I will personally fucking hit you.
