I've never seen a laptop without some sort of external display connector.
Even 15 year olds have S-Video.

I'ld say, with the way technology is going, at least in the UK, streaming off the internet would get the result you want.

You can get USB Video-in Cards, in my experiance, they're not very good, but my experiance is very limited. If you're going to get one, get one with at least two tuners, so you can record'n'watch at the same time.

I just re-read that.

If you have a VGA and [most flatscreen tellys], you can put two and two together, but sound doesn't seem to carry with that.

If your telly doesn't have a VGA (sometimes called "PC INPUT"), your laptop might have S-Video.
S-Video is round with 5 pins.

so is S Video the same as SVHS?



EDIT: Just wikipedia'd it, same connectors apparently.
