For fuck's sake!
Find me one with the posture you like, preferably on a plain-ish background.
I'll photoshop it.
It'll take less than a minute.

I could do that myself you know
in fact I could just remove the copyright from the one I want

I'll give that a bash

Well,
You're still stupid for not thinking of it!

Ctrl+L is your friend.
(, Wed 1 Jul 2009, 21:16, Reply)
What does Ctrl+L do?

(, Wed 1 Jul 2009, 21:17, Reply)
it's been a while
ctrl+L is levels right? pretend I'm an idiot and describe what I would want to be doing with that ;-)

edit: it's ok, I got it. works a treat
(, Wed 1 Jul 2009, 21:18, Reply)
Ok...
Let's assume that you're an idiot.
You wanna open the image, duplicate the background (so you've got a spare to fall back on).
The take your duplicate layer, hold CTRL+L.
There'll be a graph with three tiny triangles below the X-axis.
The furthest right one is "bright", the middle one is "midtones" and the left one is "dark".
Side 'em about, and see what you get.
Trick is to lighten the background and darken the subject (squirrel).
After you've got it right, you might wanna desaturate it.
Again, duplicate your layer. Just in case.

Then CTRL+U, and drag the saturation all the way down, to get a greyscale layer.

EDIT: DAMMIT! I WOULDN'T'VE TYPED ALL THAT IF I KNEW!

apologies
that was helpful though. a good refresher of what I was actually doing
(, Wed 1 Jul 2009, 21:27, Reply)
No problem.
Just gaz or text me about stuff like this, and I'll sort you out in seconds!

thanks dude
I used to be fairly competent, but I've been out of the game for a while. All I've done in the past few years is replace the irises in eyes of photos for planets which doesn't take too much effort.

I've succeeded in making an album cover for my side project now though (admittedly it is incredibly simple, but it works nicely)

Cool!
Send it over if you like?
I'm happy to give pointers/kudos.

I'll gaz you something I'm working on at the moment!

Although my spelling isn't all that hot.

It's ok though.
I do like Gonz though.
Most people who type like that get insta-ignore-listed by me.
He's kinda charming.
