It's alright I suppose,
Seems like a rip off of the holocaust memorial in germany to me.

I'm sure I've been to that.
It's in Berlin, isn't it?
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:42, Reply)
Yep

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:43, Reply)
It's was pretty interesting.
No. Not the right word.
It had a air to it. That's more what I mean.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:45, Reply)
gravitas?

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:46, Reply)
Thank you,
That's the one!

Saw it on the breakfast news
I think it's quite nice although I couldn't see how clearly they were split into groups. I think it'd be nice to have had the names on the pillars as well as the plaque though.

:edit: Doesn't looks like they're split up at all. Shame. That'd have made it much cooler.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:36, Reply)
it sounded to me like they were going to be in (I think) 3 clusters
but that doesn't seem to be the case
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:45, Reply)
That's what I was expecting
Well, 4 clusters, one for each bomb.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:49, Reply)
yes, 4
brain still not functioning right
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:50, Reply)
Was it ever?

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:52, Reply)
it has been known
believe it or not, I have moments when people consider me quite bright.

These days they are few and far between, hence opting for the artificial wisdom granted by a big beard.

"people consider my quite bright."
Really?
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:55, Reply)
what are you talking about?

I hate you I hate you I hate you I hate you
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:00, Reply)
It was kinda screaming in my brain.
I had to.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:05, Reply)
Not impressed.
But then again.......
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:38, Reply)
I'd say it's better than
A plaque somewhere, as something like this will get people walking around it and taking more notice.
It's easy to overlook a bit of metal on a wall, this should make people think "Hmmm... Metal bits... What's that all about?".
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:39, Reply)
Aye
That's why I would've liked to have seen the pillars split up into groups for each bombing and names on each one. Having a plaque there too is nice so that you can see all the names in one place.

Still, it's a good memorial and much better than the Diana fountain thing.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:45, Reply)
Yep, this.
There's a war memorial that the bus goes past on my way back from Wales.
It's in a park in London, near the Thames, pretty close to Victoria.
It's made of metal kinda planks, at angles, with designs cut out of them.
I like it, pretty striking.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:48, Reply)
I vaguely remember the one you mean
But only just.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:50, Reply)
Ah, found it.
upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/db/NZ_war_memorial,_London.JPG
It's the New Zealand war memorial.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:54, Reply)
Nah that's not what I'm thinking of
I might be thinking of something that isn't even a war memorial. That's a nice one though.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:58, Reply)
I like the memorial in Paris
by the war museum at the end of the gardens by the Eiffel Tower. I can't find a picture I am probably searching for the wrong thing

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:58, Reply)
that's your natural state though
and nothing to do with that memorial
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:19, Reply)
Oh and
They'll be tagged by tomorrow. Betcha an internet biscuit and a cup of tea.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:42, Reply)
I hope not :(

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 12:46, Reply)
I don't think...
...a lot of thought went into it. Which Poundland 'artist' designed this?
