Is the HDM trying to cash in?
www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/news/Schoolboy-drowns-Thai-water-park/article-1158990-detail/article.html

"A British schoolboy whose father is believed to be from Hull..."

and then the next line:
"Nathan Clark, 14, from the Isle of Man..."

But Hull isn't on the Isle of Man. Unless they're confusing the Isle of Man TT race with a load of spotty gluesniffers racing stolen mopeds around some of Hull's more vibrant estates.

Edit: Or maybe I just can't fucking read.

Anyway, it's a tenuous connection to get the story onto the frontpage of the website. Anyone seen a more tenuous news story?

Plus I agree with the comment by Anon..

Maybe he doesn't live with his dad, or they've moved?

I read this in the Metro this morning
and was torn between grief and hilarity.
I was particularly torn by the mental image of the Father (himself a pipe engineer) demanding the opening of the pipes, whereupon his dead son pops out and then he goes mental and beats a Thai bloke with a spanner.

I just don't know how to feel.

It's the HDM,
they're always making tenuous links. After all, how often can they report on little Wayne's ASBO, or the conditions at Hull Royal?
