Did anyone else do their weekly shop drunk?

No, but I've done it hungover.
Quickest trip around Tescos ever, everything was making me feel sick!
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 18:16, Reply)
I was hungover this morning
The cure was a Cornish pasty

*googles* sounds nice.
I thought for a second it was hair of the dog; I've never understood that - drink MORE of the very thing that made you ill and you'll feel better? WTF?
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 18:22, Reply)
meh
drop a soluble aspirin into a tall glass of coke and your hangover will go away sharpish
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 18:25, Reply)
I don't drink any more :) at least not enough to get me that drunk.
After that horrendous hangover I resolved to never have more than one or two again! I hate the taste and I hate feeling drunk...
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 18:31, Reply)
come here
I'll make you a drink that'll make your panties drop

I like alcohol as long as it doesn't taste of alcohol.
When I get that chemical taste I want to be sick...

I can always tell I'm hungover because I get really stupid, e.g. I just tried to spell 'bowl' as 'boul' wtf
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 18:37, Reply)
Nom! Haven't had one of those for ages and they are all of the awesome.
Might make something with mince for dinner now...

I'm too lazy to google.

(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 18:46, Reply)
Its not pie ish.
Its one of the few traditional English foods that is considered world beating goodness
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 18:48, Reply)
It looks like a pie.
We've got a bar here called Union Jack and a girl I know had yorkshire pudding there....she had never heard of it before going there....and she said it sucked.

edit: I still plan on going there and trying it myself, mind. I've never had it before.
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 18:53, Reply)
Was it served hot with stuffing and gravy ?

(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 18:59, Reply)
I have no idea
gosh that sounds horrid, I just don't like gravy and stuffing
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:00, Reply)
Really?
Yorkshire puddings are part of a balanced roast
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:01, Reply)
Considering the foul ready made foods you have in America.
A pasty should be nectar from the Gods.
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:02, Reply)
cheetos
excepted of course?
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:08, Reply)
I see your palate is not yet refined young man.

(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:10, Reply)
If that means that I can no longer eat rubbish then I dont care for refinement

(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:11, Reply)
go on, be refined with your rubbish
cheetos and caviar ftw!
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:16, Reply)
unlikely.....to me, that is
besides, America isn't the only place with ready made foods, I doubt most of the people there only eat meals they've prepared themselves every day of the week.
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:10, Reply)
Well I do but yes, I get your point.

(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:13, Reply)
as do I, unless I eat out with friends or something which is rare these days as I'm BROKE
regardless, even if I make it myself, I doubt I'll like it
as I don't like stuffing or gravy
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:15, Reply)
are you credit crunched?

(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:22, Reply)
meh
I'm living comfortably, could be better, could be worse
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:25, Reply)
Not a valid condemnation
I've just booked my 2010 holiday in the US and one of the things I'm looking forward to is the food.

Yorkshire Pudding, however, only tastes good when made by your mother.

Other than occasionally visiting me my mother has no association whatsoever with Yorkshire but still makes the best Yorkshire pudding in the world.
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:14, Reply)
Oh, BFF
You are missing out.

To expand upon the theme
Does anyone else have "shift dilemma?"

I'm on early shift this week (06.00-15.00) so I've gleefully scoffed a bottle of red as an accompaniment to housework since getting home.

I must get up at 04.30 to get to work tomorrow.

Should I:-

A - Go to the Co-op and get another bottle and be rather out of sorts in the morning?

B - Know my limits?
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:21, Reply)
co-op

(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:23, Reply)
*sings*
down in one
down in one
down in one

*maybe a little squiffy herself*

Edit - You should know your rights but it is not necessary to know your limits.
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:24, Reply)
That depends what you will be doing in the morning

(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:26, Reply)
I don't know what I'll be doing in the morning
I'll be at work, and if nothing goes wrong I can have a nice little doze in my office.

If something goes wrong I'll have to deal with it - therein lies the dilemma.

Driving to work isn't an issue. I have a Citroen C5 and I live in Bradford, where the police only stop Toyotas and Audis because they get more kudos from an Asian drugs bust than a white drunk driver.
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:32, Reply)
Oh fuck it all
I'm off to the Co-op.

If someone could suggest something interesting that I could reply to when I return I'd be jolly grateful.
(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:47, Reply)
Why the fuck are you living in Bradford?

(, Wed 29 Jul 2009, 19:59, Reply)
Because why
I live in a big Victorian mid-terrace house. Splendidly built, and in good physical condition. It's mine. There's a mortgage, but not a big one.

If I stood on my roof I could see Rawdon, and Yeadon, and Horsforth across the valley.

Pick my house up and move it 2 miles across the Aire Valley and it would be worth at least 75K more.

Edit - Co-op Merlot is a bit too sweet for my tastes. Still, I've bought it now.

So there's your answer. If I could afford to live in Leeds as a single owner/occupier I'd be there like a shot.
