I got paid!
I know this doesn't sound so exciting to most people, but this is a) my first paycheque as a real adult in the UK with responsibilities and everything, and b) my first pay since starting working here in May (it's taken them that long to 'locate' my details on the system and set up may salary payments).

So far I have bought a DVD box set for my fiance for his christmas present (hey, it's in the sale), and a pair of shoes. I should probably pay my rent sometime soon too.

Any suggestions for what else I should spend my hard earned dosh on? bear in mind I'll probably have a baby to spend next month's salary on, and then I'll be on unpaid leave for a few months, so this may be my last chance to fritter away money. Ever.

A ton of bio oil for your stretchmarks.
And some Tena ladies for your forthcoming incontinance problems due to childbirth.

thanks for the lovely suggestion
they're probably on the list for next month though, as they are baby-related purchases.

Mrs Spikeypickle
used Bio-Oil- she's only 4ft 10 and had a HUGE baby bump yet no stretch marks!

I have a huge bump
and plenty of stretch marks :-( looks like a fucking road map already. it's genetic anyway, so not a huge amout can be done about it. The palmers cocoa butter stuff is quite nice, and seems to have about as much effect as the bio oil or just plain water from what I've read :-)

fireworks
my normal response would be drugs and fireworks, but you aren't in a position to enjoy the drugs...

Your financial news is good news.
I shall add mine... I've officially now got a charity current account with Lloyds bank. This is bloody awesome news as there was a reasonable chance it'd be turned down due to my chequered financial past. I'm fucking chuffed to bits!

Spend your money on honey. And other things that rhyme with money.

Also, I've decided to make more use of /board: My fish

Well done you.
Big pat on back for getting your charity off the ground. You and ancrenne should be given the B3ta badge of kitteny goodness for doing something constructive and lovely with your lives.

Thanks :)
It's really the final piece of the jigsaw, and I can get the web site completely finished and start planning fund-raising. I'm pretty damned excited now!

industrial strength ear defenders
for those potentially sleepless nights.

(May count as baby-related, in which case buy some really good eye cream to hide the dark circles. May also count as baby-related though.)

Go crazy with your money
You are absolutely correct in guessing that this will be your last chance to fritter money away on yourself.

Though buying toys can be fun.....until you have to start sharing the toys with your kids.
