when I have literally no money until I next get paid, which is in 16 days' time, I can survive on what's in my cupboard and go to Paris?

except Tescos not delivering was how I found out...

If the answer is 'tickets to Paris' you're sorted.
( , Wed 19 Aug 2009, 12:28, Reply)

I've hit my overdraft limit and don't get paid for just over two weeks. Thank fuck the Paris tickets were free...

tell them it's "just until you get straight" and that you're "good for it, I swear". It'll make you sound trustworthy, see?

and Paris is more or less sorted (Pot has just earned himself a place in heaven), but my thinking is, I got myself into this, I can get myself out.

But my Grandpa says "You go borrowin', you go sorrowin'."
I just don't think he ever borrowed money for the right things. And if you borrow from my Grandpa there WILL be sorrow because he doesn't shut up about it.

except mine is dead... I'll have to just live on fresh air till Paris and after... just means I'll need to walk to work and become inventive with food.
Or - does anyone want to buy this teacup? Michael Jackson drank from it!

Tinned/frozen ANYTHING can be made tasty with a stock cube and some pasta.
( , Wed 19 Aug 2009, 13:02, Reply)

Got loads of noodles and pasta, so at most I'll probably end up quite thin...

they're a rip off but quick and easy.

as a loan from The Bank Of Mummy And Daddy Maladicta is harder to negotiate than peace proceedings in the Middle East.

Assuming payday is the end of the month you've 12 days to fill. If you've got starch and carbs then you need cheap protein to put with it. I recommend borrowing a tenner off a friend and learning to cook (if you can't already) - cooking in bulk and freezing is very cheap. You might get tired of cottage pie, chili and keema curry by the end of the month though.

but will need to borrow a couple of quid just so I can get some food in; flatmate buys his own shopping and was going to get his on Friday, so all I'll need to do is borrow a couple of quid off someone to get some meat in, and then make it last as far as possible. And if I'm eating better and walking to work, it can't be a bad thing, as well as teaching me not to be a twat with money!

I've just had to as I am properly fucked. Boot sales FTW

wondering what I can sell to get some money in now...

1 dessert spoon of black treacle before serving (assuming you've made a 4-person sized chilli).
Once you have tried this you will praise me as a culinary genius, I'll bet my testes on it.
( , Wed 19 Aug 2009, 13:54, Reply)

I don't have black treacle though
my secret chilli ingredient is jack daniels, and lots of it

I hear pole dancing is very popular with the younger ladies nowadays and quite well paid.
( , Wed 19 Aug 2009, 13:36, Reply)

fucking job stealing bastards the lot of them. They.re all involved in organised crime too. And they insist on writing in their stupid language full of consonants. And they have their special food shops and I don't know what any of it is.
It must be quite difficult being an actual racist and trying to think up reasons why you don't like another group of people without constantly shooting down your own logic. I suppose if you are an actual racist then logic doesn't come into it much. I must ask Clendrix how she copes.
( , Wed 19 Aug 2009, 13:50, Reply)

is it racist to laugh at the POLISH SHOP that I drive past every now and then and make a quip about needing to shine something up?
( , Wed 19 Aug 2009, 13:55, Reply)

Same as Polish food in Tescos, makes me giggle.
Edit: why is Clenders a big racist?

we can't see any sense in her horrible horrible views
( , Wed 19 Aug 2009, 14:33, Reply)

although the fuck-all-till-payday diet will probably help there!
( , Wed 19 Aug 2009, 14:26, Reply)

or credit card? they are both good resources if you use them sensibly (i.e. pay them off ASAP, and don't abuse them by spending more than you can ever possibly pay back).
or go to your local pub and see if they have a couple of hours paid work collecting glasses or the like some evening - that could get you a wee bit of cash.
( , Wed 19 Aug 2009, 14:11, Reply)

and don't have a credit card because I don't trust myself not to be a twat with it... as can be evidenced here I'm pretty shit with money; it's only fortunate that this was food for me and not the both of us who live here!
It's a worry when I consider selling naked photos on ebay to make money...
( , Wed 19 Aug 2009, 14:27, Reply)

about extending the overdraft for a month or two?
I had similar problems last year, and my bank were lovely enough to extend it for me. I was a twat though, and didn't pay it off quickly enough (i.e. within a year...), so ended up paying some fees, which wasn't good. however, it's made me MUCH more sensible with money, and I've only bought one pair of shoes since getting my new job. 1!
(I have bought a lot of new baby stuff, but that's entirely justifiable)
or could you sell your paris tickets?
( , Wed 19 Aug 2009, 14:32, Reply)

because I work for Eurostar they're technically free (and unfortunately UK railway law states they're not transferable - a sacking offence if I get caught). I might have to nip to the bank tomorrow and see if they'll extend it for a bit for me; after this I'm going to be far more sensible with my cash... ><'
