PayPal
They've suspended my account because a third party tried to access it, apparently.
They gave me a checklist of things to do to restore my account (like change password etc etc).I've done all this (on 19th July) and still my account is fucked.
I asked them what was goin on and they've emailed me telling me to FAX a copy of a recent utility bill. This has got to be a scam right?
I don't care about security because I have a new debit card which they don't have the details of, so I doubt they can rape my account, but it's very inconvenient.
What should I do? Surely PayPal don't ask for faxes?

That's just lovely, that is
not a hint of sarcasm or insincerity in sight. When will the rest of B3ta catch up to you and your superior skills of observation?
(, Tue 25 Aug 2009, 11:14, Reply)
Never!
I'm quite unique and special.

So, what were you doing to fill the void?

They might do,
find pay pals number on their website and give them a call.

Ta
The sly fuckers have been into my account and removed one of the ticks from my checklist. Which is fine, as it means I could put my new card details in, which might eliminate the need to fax them my fucking utility bill.
They may ban me because of my abusive email though...

Paypal are cunts.
They charge you to receive money but get tonnes of interest on the probable millions sitting in there accounts before you request a withdrawal.

If, like they did with my brother, they decided something dodgy is going on they freeze your account. They the request loads of stupid details. You know those adverts they had saying "Parents send your poor student kids money with paypal!" Well my mum sent him money every month. Paypal then froze my brothers account with about £600 quid in it. They said to unfreeze it you have to send us proof of transactions. He told them that there were no transactions and that his dear mummy was sending him money each month. They basically told him tough shit and made him wait months before they sent him a cheque.

My wife had her account frozen by paypal
Due to some scrote accessing it and making fraudulent purchases (one of which was picked up by Paypal and the account frozen). However, once it had been cleared up the account and money it contained was still unaccessible as the password stage always came up with 'page error'.
I spoke to several foreign people on the phone all called 'david', 'cecil' etc with no joy.
Then I got hold of the personal email of one of the head men in the main office in Ireland. Problem sorted in a matter of a day. Very nice man, arranged to phone us back at a time of our convenience, kept his promises, and a shame Paypal does not train all their so called 'customer support' people to be like him. Details below - hope it helps someone.

Please either call me (on 00353 1 4369337) or email me (at
[email protected]) and I will be happy to discuss this matter, at your
convenience.

Sincerely,

Ciaran O’Connor
