Here comes the rain
It's been quite a while since it last rained. I didn't miss it AT ALL.

What's back that you didn't miss?

Lady Problem
Damn doctors making me wait before I can get a new coil. DO not want back pain!

Early sunsets.
Damn this longditude and its variable daylight.

the worst thing about them is how low the sun is in the late afternoon
for some reason I tend to be driving into the setting sun all the time and it's too low for the sun visor thing.

I like the rain and the cold though.

It's the dark that gets to me.
I often walk after work and when it's dark I can't use new paths or ones with undergrowth or roots etc.

getting up in the morning
and it is dark, then working all day in a windowless dungeon, going outside, blinking at dinner time, into the rain and the pollution, then leaving work in the dark...

every.fucking.day.for.months........its no wonder i self medicate

Most of my journey to work is along a straight east-west road
And I work to the east so Winter gives me this morning and evening. I need to work to the west or move east.

MY FEET AND TROUSERS ARE WET

(, Tue 6 Oct 2009, 9:07, Reply)
this is why I put on my boots this morning
rather than a more summery shoe

turned out it wasn't raining that much and I'm now boiling hot though

the worst kind of weather is warm and wet in my opinion.

The rain is back here too
Not that it really left for that long. However, no classes today mean that I'm just going to work from home instead. Woo!

The undergraduates
And there's a whole new year's worth of the bastards. (Well, alright, they're not all bad; I just have a rather short fuse after two years of lab demonstrating)

And I'm wet. Grrr.

The Bird’s Eye Super Mousse
Buoyed with retro food excitement, I purchased a 4-pack of Strawberry Super Mousse last night. Expecting it to taste of 1982 – a treat to be enjoyed on a Friday night, having watched Crackerjack (Crackerjack!) and then being allowed to stay up late so I could watch Albion Market or Winner Takes All, The Gentle Touch or The Professionals or if you were really lucky, The Fall Guy. Taping the theme tunes of the aforementioned shows to my little tape recorder, ooh, happy days.

The reality? It’s tasted really synthetic, didn’t have enough strawberry sauce and tasted nothing like childhood.

I should have gone with the Arctic Roll instead.

Oh man oh man oh man
I'm so glad you told me. I'd have got my hopes up and everything. Friday night was 'bits and pieces' night where we'd get a nice sandwich, some crisps and cheese and salad and stuff. To top it all, a strawberry Super Mousse. They were awesome.

where they the ones in the little plastic tub with cardboard lid
which came in a stack?
(, Tue 6 Oct 2009, 10:03, Reply)

Quite correct. Plastic pot with a cardboard lid – I’m not sure if it’s because they only come in packs of 4, but the packing process now, isn’t for them to be stacked one on top of the other, it’s a two-by-two packing formation.

Okay, the four of them only cost a quid, but it was still a major disappointment. I’d bought ‘youth’ albeit in a frozen yoghurt pot and it didn’t happen.

As I said some months back, the Big Trak I bought on e-bay was shit as well. (My folks were never going to part with the sort of cash a Big Trak would have cost).

There is a reason why most of the stuff we either longed for of wanted as kids is no longer available. It was all shit.

this is disappointing
what with finding out the Mr Frosty was shit as well it seems that most of our childhood dreams are being crushed.

I recommend you watch the He-man and She-ra movie. It will restore your faith, because it's awesome.

also, go and buy some mini-milks. they are still the fucking shit.
(, Tue 6 Oct 2009, 10:17, Reply)
I seem to remember
The chocolate mini-milk was the biggest offender.

I was always more partial to a Mr Freeze ice-pole thingy.

5p well spent - especially the cola one, but there was a lot to be said for the blue one as well.

Doubtless they are shit now as well.
(, Tue 6 Oct 2009, 10:21, Reply)
naa, Mr Freeze are still the same
still the same price I think too. maybe 10 or 15p for the giant ones
(, Tue 6 Oct 2009, 10:31, Reply)
"tasted nothing like childhood"
I do like a taste of childhood now and again
