I've been in an awesome mood since Sunday
and it suits me. It makes me eat more and motivates me to get stuff done.
What suits you and motivates you?

That said when i lived in Hull all of the schools retained a 0% 5-GCSE pass rate
That means that in none of the high schools did a pupil graduate with at least five subjects

I don't know anything about GCSE subjects or tests but I'm fairly certain that I'd fail all

At the end of manditory education in England
you take a test in each subject, if you pass you are awarded a General Certificate of Secondary Education. The pass is graded (A,B,C..etc) like a normal test.

You arent required to attend school after age 16
you just leave. You use the marks you get for your GCSE exams to apply for further study or jobs

The GCSE's are graded
from A-G, with U being the equivalent of a fail.
A-C is considered the grades to aim for, but if you get anything other than a U you're still considered passed.
We don't have official graduation in the UK, and if you do fail your GCSE's you have the option of going to 6th form (like a junior college) to re-take them, or find a job.

Does that mean that there are massive tailbacks
because one guy is driving at 12mph on the motorway 'cause he fears that the scarybadwater will cause him to aquaplane and get killed to death?

Yes,
and on the other end of the scale are the "manly men" who think that by driving faster on a slick road the can in someway prove their penis size.
