Their digestive systems aren't good enough.
How old/big is it?

This site is pretty similar to the one we use at work as guidance on what's best to feed them, vegetation wise

And it also says that you can feed them things that are toxic/pointless foodstuffs.

The main problem with too much protein is tat it can seriously screw up they're liver function.
They should have a diet of 90% veg and 10% protein.
And this comes from somebody who has bred beardies, and other reptile.

Is that I can't kill people to feed to him?
Well this is just fucking marvellous.

Just in small pieces.
If you wanted something to eat that much meat, you should have got one of the monitor lizards, or a pig. :)

And mine wouldn't hurt a fly. They may eat the occasional passing fox though.

They REEK. I've met some very sweet lovely ones and some utter shits in the last few months and while I like them well enough, I could never own one. Gorgeous polecat in last week to be castrated, the smell lingered for hours after he'd left.

First beardie but it's an addition to the snakes, scorpions and tarantula. I've pretty much got every kinda weird food around here.
And pinkies are okay occasionally but not very often. Izzard is of an age where it's about 10-20% live food and the rest is mixed fruits and vegetables.
It's like having a pet that's 50% stone and 50% rabbit - eats lettuce and does fuck all...

We get quite a few in at work with various different problems, so I'd never recommend pinkies as part of the regular diet if they'll happily get along on insects.
I miss the gecko we had for a couple of months, he was awesome
