My mum and dad have just had their bathroom ceiling plastered and I have never seen such a superb bit of work, there isn't a single mark, it's like he's used a template of the ceiling to smooth it off. And not only that but he didn't get any splashes elsewhere in the room.
Plasterer, I think you've done an ace job and I wish I could do it.
Also, quick bit of info on my non scientific study: No. of motorbikes seen today: 1. No. of motorbikes sitting less than 10m off my rear bumper and undertaking at speeds in excess of 70mph: 1.

my parents had their loft conversion plastered, and it has strange angles meeting everywhere and curves and sharp edges and stuff. The plastering is a thing of beauty.

They wait an hour after they have finished then the go over everything with a wet paintbrush, much like a brush used for applying paste to wallpaper, this is what gives the plaster that smooth shiny finish.
That, and a load of fuck custard of course.

I think you need to do a bit of strategic door opening on the passenger side.

a few days with him so I can attempt to pick up the basics for doing my own house ....... I've seen his work and it's shiny like glass.
Wish I could command the extra curricular cash he can!

he was working on a big grand old house which was being done up for it's re-opening, possibly with the BBC there and stuff. The painters/decorators also working there were complete cunts and pulled loads of cunty pranks, so to get them back the plasterers heavily polished a section of new plaster in a stripe around one room. Polished plaster is incredibly slippery and shiny etc, but the painters didn't notice until they started painting it and the paint wouldn't stick to the stripe.

The ceiling in my flat has an annoying habit of dropping chunks of plaster all over the place,me and my flat mate have started to blu-tack the pieces back to their original position so now my ceiling looks like a shit giant puzzle. I don't think i'll be seeing my deposit again.
