Assuming it to be one of those 'Swag' type shows and some sub-Beadle chap would jump out and make me look the thieving cunt I so obviously was on national tele.

Take it
make a note of the time as if you intend to go and pay it in to the bank when it opens and then spend the money. But don't take any money out for yourself or they will know who you are and will ask for the money back.

Yup, that's pretty much what I did.
I waited a few minutes to see if anyone came back but nope. It only occurred to me afterward that the machine probably would have retrieved the money had I not taken it out of the slot. I feel a bit guilty but, well, fifty quid is fifty quid and it's come in VERY handy.
