The Fairy Tale of New York?
I'm surprised that no-one's mentioned it!
(, Wed 16 Dec 2009, 15:45, Reply)
I was going to put it in
but it's a bit too obvious

It would be in the top 10 though
(, Wed 16 Dec 2009, 15:49, Reply)
I kind of forgot that one

I loves it.
Kirsty rules all. If anyone says they prefer the insipid Ronan Keating version, I want to kick them.

'Blue Christmas' by t'King (not Jonathan, btw)
EDIT: oh, and 'Scum', by Napalm Death of course.

Someone covered that
It was cool and a little bit countryish but also bluesy and the girl had a really amazing voice. I heard it in a shop. :(

EDIT: It's Nicole Atkins

I hate all Christmas songs
but I could watch the video to "all I want for christmas (is you)" all day.
(, Wed 16 Dec 2009, 15:48, Reply)
Three minutes of it is usually enough for me

I dont even find her attractive normally
but that video...in the skimpy santa costume...rolling around...all bubbly and up for it...
(, Wed 16 Dec 2009, 15:55, Reply)
And the cleavage - don't forget the cleavage.
Otherwise fully agree with your assessment.

The joke wore off pretty quickly
I dont mean the song, I mean the band. I dont hate them, I just NEVER want to hear "I believe in a thing called love" ever again.

The have their own Tribute Band
'The Likeness' from Macclesfield

They're quite amusing.
(, Wed 16 Dec 2009, 16:23, Reply)
just...why?
shirley the darkness are almost their own tribute band (if you get what I mean), it would be like going to see a Goldie Lookin' Chain tribute band.

As Xmas songs go it's a good one, I grant you.
However, that is a bit like saying 'as serial killers go, Peter Sutcliffe's alright'...

The Darkness
the one thing I admire the darkness for is that they brought out an album on vinyl in a gatefold sleeve with proper rock-band artwork.
(, Wed 16 Dec 2009, 20:09, Reply)
Great Xmas album
Esquivel - 'Merry Xmas from the Space-Age Bachelor Pad' is a cheesey delight.
