So walking home just now
a group of teenage kids threw a McDonalds milkshake over a wall and it hit me.

When they came round the corner and saw me. I said something like 'well done you idiots'. They walked off laughing.

I went batshit. I went after them shouted that I wasn't going to let a group of little idiots like them get away with it and demanded an apology. Which I got.

Did I do the right thing?
I feel bad about it now, they couldn't have known that I was on the other side of the wall.

Feel bad???
Little shits didn't feel bad when they laughed.
Would you have done that when you were a kid, and if you had, wouldn't you have been mortified if it hit someone or you got caught?

Might make them think.

If they had realised it had hit me
and said something like 'oh I'm sorry, I didn't think anyone would be there' I wouldn't have gone quite so mad.

I balled out the entire school a couple of weeks ago.

According to one year 6 child I am 'a thousand scary'.

I do hope you were at the school in some sort of offical or proffesional capacity.

As a teacher, you're the only one who _is_ allowed to do that.

A thousand scary
What a brilliant phrase. I'm adopting that.
(, Fri 1 Jan 2010, 17:18, Reply)
Right?
Yes. And completely admirable.

Nothing wrong with challenging them at all
The problem as I see it is that if kids behave like twunts and are unchalenged then when somebody actually does they get stroppy because to them it's the norm.

Did the same myself when some spotty oiks threw a snowball at my wife's car and they did get shirty. I got shouty.
