Plus I went to the tool shop today and asked for "a thing to tighten taps with". The (young) guy behind the counter pissed himself laughing at me. How the fuck was I supposed to know that it's called a basin wrench?

I'd have said 'adjustable spanner' and got it home, only to realise that I didn't mean that at all.
