doubt an appeal would make any difference
it was a mobile van, which are the biggest bastards from what I hear.

my mate is a lawyer with mucho traffic offence experience though, so could see what he has to say.

I was kind of being a little bit sarcastic
in reference to our favourite anti banking citizen smith b3tan you likes to go and deliberately get tickets so he can appeal them becuase speeding laws are bad and speed doesn't kill people at all.

the laws are fine mostly
apart from some of the 30 zones near here. there is no reason for them to be 30 at all.

which particular b3tan are you talking about? I'm feeling dense today

If this person is really anti-banking
he or she should require payment in nothing but gold as we all know paper money is the root of all socialist evil.

Apparently...
one way of getting out of it, is to reply to the first notice, saying who was driving. Then ignore the fixed penalty notice. It's sent by first class mail, not recorded delivery, therefore the police have no proof that you ever received it.

You just claim that you never got it, if it goes any further. The chances of it going further are quite small, I believe, because the police can't be bothered with the extra paperwork to chase you up.

Disclaimer: This is not legal advice. It's just hearsay and a little bit of experience, so don't sue me!

so I've heard
to be honest, I'll probably just suck it up. take the points and pay the fine.
