Quiet one tonight
Pop into the pub the bird I'm trying to nab works at, pick up my mp3 player off her (left it round hers a few days back), few drinks with her before I come back here (alone, unfortunately), watch a couple DVDs with a bottle of Pinot and hit the hay.

Tomorrow I'm out for eleven and am being dragged round Byker (I've already checked and no, unfortunately, the cast of the Grove are nowhere to be found) by a mate for an all day and night session for the Newcastle game. Looking forward to it, although all I'll get is non stop flak off everyone because of my charming SE London accent. The swines.

If it helps
I have a colleague wot hails from Toon, like, and I do love to take the piss out of her accent.

Most of them I can understand
But there's a few from Low Fell in Gateshead and I haven't a danny about anything that comes out their mouths. Although it's the same for them with me, it feels like I'm speaking French half the time the amount people that go "what?" after I say something.

Dont worry about it
Even I have trouble understanding a lot of the locals, and I've lived in this neck of the woods for over 20 years.

If I'm with non-northern types I usually try to reign in my accent. Not that I think it's particularly broad in the first place!
