Best weekend in fucking YEARS, and a lovely warm sunny morning in Londinium to ease me back into working.
WARNING: I AM FEELING UNCHARACTERISTICALLY CHIPPER.
Consolation: it won't last long.

I take it you had lots of time with your daughter?

We went out for lunch on Sunday and she got so much pasta sauce on her face that she turned orange like David Dickinson. Most entertaining.

I really have got to know her even better now - and I really like what I see. The clever little bugger has started reading already, too. Only basic word recognition but still, not bad for 20 months.

on her torso. I did it myself. It's a bit wonky but considering how pissed I was when I did it, it's OK.

but it's definitely opened the shortlist.

It might well get you some more gigs for your band - and HOT CHICKS.

it's a problem. The further I get into this long-term relationship the more hot chicks seem to be around and the more they seem to be interested in me (relatively speaking)
Why this couldn't happen when I was young, free and single is beyond me.

Someone is being rude about Jeff.

took along part of his guitar to get signed, which is pretty cool, particularly as he plays in a surf band.

people who have been in the business for a long time have some great stories and a great stage presence.
Like Gordon Giltrap.

Dale was good NOW, as opposed to merely worth seeing because he used to be.

similar people I've seen have been awesome
like the Robert Plant gig. So good it hurt.

I don't blame him for resisting the Led Zep reunion, much as I'm gutted from a personal point of view. If I was hitting the top ten with my current music I would be less inclined to hit the road with my old band from 40 years ago...

his current stuff, the Alison Krauss stuff and the Strange Sensation, is new and fresh and really very good.
I strongly suspect I will never see a gig as good as that. His presence and his voice were just incredible.

are as good now as when I first saw them many, many years ago.
Disappointingly, Hawkwind have been terrible since the early 90s.

I'm really not fond of his girly, high-pitched shrieking on Led Zep records. Now that he's dropped an octave or two I think he's got a much better tone.
EDIT: And I'd agree with Monty re Hawkwind. Mind you, I thought they started losing it circa PXR5 when they let Bob Calvert read his poetry over the music.
