Or using them to express my innermost feelings. I think that lyric writing is an art form every bit as valid as writing poetry, film scripts, comedy sketches or political speeches. What I'm doing is asking people for their favourite lines. Why is it less valid than asking for favourite one liner jokes, lines of poetry or favourite lines from films?
You can either join in or not. There's also an ignore button. There seems to be somethig of "stop spoiling our /clique board" attitude around this place.

Don't take anything I say on here personally

you are now part of the clique whether you like it or not

you just posted a load of lyrics, which isn't engaging and doesn't inspire conversation. If you'd put at the end "what are your favourite lyrics and why?" then we might have been more accommodating.
It's not cliquey, it's just how a forum based around the words Question of the Week works.

I've nearly learnt it.

I didn't even know we had a secret handshake.
I'm going to have to post some pathetic emo lyrics so that everyone knows how upset I am, ONLINE.

I bet we could totally get that backflipping bit down

it became the norm when starting "List" or "Give Examples Of" threads to just state the title and it was understood if you gave two or three examples that that was what was expected.

the thing is, even if you had asked what our favourite lyric was for example, you may still have ended up with a slating. Just need to take it on the chin. Mentioning the ignore button won't do you any favours.

so we need something engaging to have conversations about and lists don't really work like that. That's why everyone gets mad when there's a question of the week that requests good and bad things (like this week for example!) and people don't like to speak of that travesty of the question that was 'Mixtapes'...*shudder*

I realise I probably came across as a heinous bitch earlier with ALL MY CAPITALISATION. I was already angry on the internet at someone else and took it out on here a bit.

which is appreciated naturally, but Monty called him a simpering helmwad. That deserves some extra credit.

hopefully we can become better people now.

but you need to understand how things work. We indulge in a lot of good-natured mockery, even when it looks like we are being completely vile and nasty. Basically anything is fair game, but we try to keep things interesting.
Which unfortunately the above isn't.
Nowhere do you pose the question: what are your favourite lyrics or anything of the sort. You just posted some lyrics.
Also, you basically called me a witless tit earlier because I think that Ian Dury was shit.

It's not. They're all tedious.
