Yep, been there
Although the other way round, obviously. When I had long hair I got lf-whistled at a fair bit

EDIT: just re-read that, it's much harsher on you, I was asking for it, sorry

Haha
and when I told my mum she laughed herself silly. Told me I should look after myself better and to stop wearing that stupid leather jacket

Much the same as my Mum's advice when I got teased for having long hair
Not as bad as my Gran though. Weekly phone call on Sunday, she always opened with "have you cut your hair yet?" and sounded really, really disappointed when I said no

I had really terrible fashion sense
which has amused my mother something wicked over my lifetime. The insistence on a leather trenchcoat as my school coat, 4 inch heels and green tights instead of black. I must have looked like a transvestite prostitute from the future

I think I know you.

where from?
edit: it's quite unlikely. I'm not from Manchester

There was a girl who dressed exactly like this in my high school.
Probably wasn't you though.

If you went to a grammar
it might have been me. Though I didn't wear the tights everyday just the coat and shoes. Worst rebel ever

For the last ten years of my life,
my great granddad assumed I was one of my sister's friends every time I saw him. Blokes with long hair just couldn't exist.

my grandmother's face when I first turned up at a family thing with my beard was priceless. a real life :-o

I just said "you should see what james (my bro) has done to his head" as he had just almost completely shaved it.
