Went to the docs today with a sunburn - he was a bit perplexed until he saw me.
Borderline 2nd degree burns to my nose and lips.
I'm a dumbass as I was up in the mountains over the weekend doing what I love best, and my brain was a bit slow on the uptake. "Oh, it's winter, no need for sunblock, just protect my eyes from the snow".
So now my nose and mouth are all ointmented up, I'm on antibiotics to prevent infection and I look like a fucking mong.
Did you all have a good weekend?

I had dinner with my two oldest friends last night and since I'm not involved with anyone and don't have kids or a step kid I am apparently incapable of conversation.
I said about 20 words in 2 hours. It was bollocks. They looked at and talked to eachother most of the time and I texted my housemate saying "I don't want to be here". Sad times.

didn't get sunburned, mainly because from about now in the year I wear suncream if I go out for more than half an hour.

I usually go up during summer - summer = sunblock. Snow on ground and 33 degrees = dumbass.

well at least you didn't ignore it like I did one year. A lot of the skin of my back peeled off

I went skiing in France in April, and didn't use sunblock for four days. I'm very fair-skinned with a kind of brownish ginger hair.
Three days after, I still couldn't eat because when I opened my mouth the skin around it would crack open and blood would start running down my chin into my beard.
Never, ever, ever again.

My friends keep trying to make me laugh right now to watch my lips crack. And it doesn't help that I have a bandage on my nose and look like I had a nose job......or that the goopy burn ointment looks like snot!

Antibiotics to prevent infection?
And people wonder how we ended up with so many antibiotic-resistant illnesses...
Oy, veh.
