No.
I've never been a fan of short hair on girls. I've seen and known some beautiful short-haired girls but my preference has always been for long hair.

I think people assume
women with short hair are more likely to be adventurous. Did you have any tattoos/piercings?

Not until my early thirties. I had very short hair from mid twenties till last year.
It never put guys off.

short hair
is quite often viewed as different to the norm, so having it probably signalled that you weren't really hidebound by convention. I'd love short hair, but I have a long face so I'd just look like a man

I was always getting mistaken for a guy. Admittedly mostly from the back.
I found it amusing.

When my nephew was about 4 years old he asked me if I was a man or a woman.

Is that better or worse than being a guy with long hair
And being mistaken for your mate's girlfriend*?

If it was a gyny - worse. Much, much worse.
Sad reflection on state of our NHS, etc.

I was once nearly denied entry into the USA
'...but this is a lady's passport, sir'

'A LADY CALLED MONTY, YOU FUCKING SPASTIC?'

'Oh, sorry sir'

In his defence the photo was from my long-haired days and at that moment I had a grade '0' skinhead, but still...

It depends how you define 'short,' I think
There's that 60s-style bob cut which is 'short' by female standards - and which looks very nice on the right women - but would still be a socially unacceptable length of hair for a man.

Besides...
That hair on a man would make you look like Emo Phillips
