"it's pretty funny even for blokes."
That says to me that I, as a bloke, will probably be bored to tears by it.

There's a good question...
Do women actually find romantic comedies funny, or do they just find them entertaining because the story tends to be quite saccharine and has a couple of weak laughs along the way?

I don't really like rom coms
although I found How to Lose a Guy really funny and so do most of the men I know who've been forced to watch it. Give it a go with an open mind. It's obviously got a soppy ending but it's amusing for the rest of it.

Oh, I've tried to watch several of them
Including the inexplicably fabled Four Weddings. Some, I admit, were better than others, some failed to even raise a smile. Though I have now got the slightly judgemental stage of being able to watch the trailer for one of them and think, "That's going to be shit." Not that I won't try your recommendation, of course!

Eugh, Four Weddings was shit
But not as bad as Love Actually.
(, Wed 5 May 2010, 16:43, Reply)
Love, Actually was fucking awful
Although Bill Nighy's hamming it up as the aged rock star made the whole thing slightly more bearable. Four Weddings I could swear blind did not have a single joke apart from that bloke signing "your flies are undone."

Oh god yeah they were both dreadful
and everyone quotes them as being the most watchable rom coms. Love actually was boring, although I quite liked Martine McCutcheon seducing the prime minister.

Except for Charlotte Coleman (Scarlet) - I'd like to have met Scarlet.
- and when I say met...

They are all,
without exception, 'fucking shit'.

Hope this helps.

that's not true
that's like saying that all action films with Bruce Willis are brilli...oh wait.

Although I have enjoyed some chick flicks
One of them had Eliza Dushku in, and in one sequence she changed bikinis a lot.

That should've won every Oscar.

Alright Tightsy!
It won the Oscar of my heart penis.
(, Wed 5 May 2010, 16:28, Reply)
Alright, Labia?
Ah, the penis Oscar. I'd write to her about that, if I was you.

I can see no flaw in this plan

(, Wed 5 May 2010, 16:37, Reply)
Then I shall proceed!

Grand thanks mate, and yourself and your-good-lady?
Maybe I'll include pictures, it looks more impressive after I've watched some of her scenes in Dollhouse.
(, Wed 5 May 2010, 16:40, Reply)
No, you would be bored to tears by She's All That
How to Lose a Guy is funny.

My Best Friend's Girl is quite funny too, she's in that as well.
