I loved Simon Bates on Our Tune.
Weekday mornings, 11am, big doobie and a little cry. Simon's voice could make glaciers melt.

I loved sitting with my tape to tape deck
recording the top 40 trying to get the whole song and cut out as much Bruno Brookes as possible.

The problem with Our Simes was
When he did the Golden Hour (songs and bits of news from a year that you had to guess - a format still used by most local stations to this day)he'd quite often throw in "It was the year that the Queen Mother celebrated her XXth/st/nd/rd birthday." which when you knew that the Queen Mother was born in 1900, removed all kudos from working out the year from which Ian Dury song he'd played.
