I don't know why they stopped selling Lucky Charms in England, they were my favourite breakfast cereal of all time. I know they sell them in Selfridges now, but they're well expensive!
What do you miss from times of yore?

I investigated one when they first appeared and it wouldn't let me off the webpage it took me to, so I had to close down Firefox, but it being Firefox it remembered the pages and opened them all up again next time so I had the same problem again.

When they were legal you could get a huge variety of mushrooms: Thai, Australian, Mexican etc with ease. Since the law changed you can only get the UK native Liberty Caps. And they really are completely different from the foreign ones - for one thing they're about ten times smaller and the effect entirely different.

My Step dad who has no clue who they are couldn't get to the bar because their entourage had picked a table right next to it and had spread out like they owned the place. He very loudly shouted at the one with the hat "Oi, you with the stupid hat, would you and your mates mind moving out of the way so the rest of us can get a drink" Mr Stupid Hat guy and his minders moved out of the way. my friend in the states sent me a package with 6 boxes of lucky charms in. I was over the moon, she sent them by surface mail so they took three months to get to me. I ate Lucky Charms every day until one day they were gone. I have not had any in ten years. I'm a sad panda.
(, Thu 6 May 2010, 9:24, Reply)
They're about £6 a box, but it's nice to treat yourself every so often. I went to Florida when I was a teenager and binged on them all week and then brought as many boxes back as I could fit in the suitcase.
(, Thu 6 May 2010, 9:29, Reply)
Your Lucky Charms will cost a total of £12.40. It's probably worth ordering more.

Is it instead possible to transmit cereal via underground tunnels?

What that has to do with tunnels I don't know. The Ocean has a surface.

And wondered if there was scope for a sort of sub-surface mail, involving tunnels which transmit cereal. Or other stuff, depending on your needs.

and its too big/expensive for air mail you send it surface mail, see. cereal tunnels direct to my home would be awesome, maybe a cereal tap next to my water taps.

they are doing a limited edition mint one sometime this year. And since I live less than 3 miles from the Cadbury's factory, you'd think they'd be a bit fucking easier to get hold of. The only place I've found near me that has them is the post office, which is handily only open when I am at work.

I wasn't allowed them as a child in case I choked on them. (I wasn't allowed to watch Grange Hill or Eastenders either but I was given free reign when it came to printed text. Oh, and I was never given colouring books because my mother thought it "stifled creativity" because you were supposed to keep within the lines.)

When he did the Golden Hour (songs and bits of news from a year that you had to guess - a format still used by most local stations to this day)he'd quite often throw in "It was the year that the Queen Mother celebrated her XXth/st/nd/rd birthday." which when you knew that the Queen Mother was born in 1900, removed all kudos from working out the year from which Ian Dury song he'd played.

how everyone seems to remember and love Lucky Charms.
If they really were as popular as everyone makes out then why the fuck were they stopped?
The truth is people don't really like Lucky Charms and are just being rose-tinted and sentimental. They tasted like shit - the Marshmallows weren't even real ones. They were the cheap shit variety.
I remember when this was all fields. Now the packs and jews have taken my job. I didn't pick the pieces of my mate Joe's brain out of my uniform in the trenches of Amiens for all this bullshit.

They weren't marshmallowy bits, they were foamy bits and they weren't crunchy if you let the milk settle into them a bit, it kind of rehydrates them. Like cereal with dried fruit. I had them only a few months ago and they were just as delicious as I remember!
