But it's far too soft and airy for (if I remember correctly) Frodsham.

Same here
Grew up in Tanhouse, yet have very little Skem accent at all, which I'm rather glad of. My Dad is from Great Missenden, so I suppose that must have helped, as my Mum was born in Croydon.
