mine change colour depending on the light
and on my clothes. So usually green with gold bits, but grey on overcast mornings or if I wear grey clothing

so don't quote me on this, but aren't grey eyes a rare combination of mostly blue genes, very light shades of, while green eyes are just an actual mutated colour?
