Well done on the breathing space before mixing.I know so many people who don't bother leaving time between, or take a rough copy of their tracks home before mixing and it inevitably ruins the completed record every* time.
*Even though I did it and my latest recordings are my best yet.

The studio engineer did a rough mix for us to take homeI gave it one listen and everything sounded awful; didn't sound like us at all. I also did a preliminary mix of one of the songs for my folks to listen to, but apart from that we've not touched them since the recording.
Hopefully this will bode well. Having said that, I already know there's at least one or two vocals I want to re-record tomorrow.
