It's Friday, it's sunny, I'm alive!
Got a shit day coming up in work, but I'm finishing early and getting on a train to see my dude, so I'm mostly happy.
What happy thoughts will keep you wading through the shit with a smile today?

followed by a possible drunken fuck with one of my fishing buddies. It's 3 weeks since the breakup, but this guy and I got together before the ex and I got serious

and then a birthday tea for a 4-year-old. I bought Play-Doh!
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 8:20, Reply)
I predict some playdoh will get eaten. Tears before bedtime!
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 8:57, Reply)
I wish I could get away with still playing with stuff like that.
Never occurred to me to eat any though.

stuffed play-doh into the speakers in my mum's car. She was well unimpressed.

when I was at uni we used to sit around, get really stoned and mess about with play-doh (generally the 30 second sculpture challenge), play hangman on the magic sketcher and all manner of other exciting childish things.

We generally just get drunk and trash shit, but that sounds way more thrilling.

And we're going to team up on MarioKart again, with me staying right behind her around every track, shooting anyone who gets in our way.
It's a winning formula, dammit!

I was on the train last night and these kids were running up and down shouting and screaming and the parents weren't doing anything, it was driving me mad and I actually thought 'crackhouse wouldn't put up with this shit'.

will get your kids taken off you these days. It's political correctness gone mad - the occasional cigarette burn and weekly flogging never did me any harm.

but the mere thought of it was enough.

but all it took was my mum to say "I'll tell your dad" and we'd be good. We didn't figure that he couldn't do anything from where he was.

I used to get smacked, but only when I'd done something really naughty. My sister and I had a lot of discipline when we were younger, some stuff I spose people would get outraged at now (the smacking) but we've grown up perfectly fine, normal, well behaved people.
Well, she has anyway.

At some point in the next few weeks she has to push another human being out of her chuff, and then she has to spend the next 21 years cleaning up after its shit.
Pity her, pity all us parents

They're not pretty, and I sincerely hope that Captain V is prepared to do EVERYTHING for CHCB and the baby for the first couple of days. It takes hours for the epidural to wear off, and the poor cow's going to feel rougher than a builder's armpit for a few days.
I hope he looks over the sheet they put up though, looking inside your missus' guts being held apart with calipers is an experience I'll never forget

I had to wrestle the crayon off him to stop him drawing the chestburster scene from Alien. He seems very excited about seeing my insides.

I'm currently trying to type a 40 minute dictation by someone who has one of those 'sch' speech impediments. IT MAKES ME WANT TO RIP MY KIDNEYS OUT AND STAMP ON THEM
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 8:48, Reply)
I'm done with annoying schpeech impedimentsch for the day now, I was just doing typing as overtime. Now I get to begin real work, joy!

Good morning to you too!

run on sunday, so the arrival of the weekend is, for once, actually making me feel rather woeful.
However there's a good possibility of an outrageously extended pub lunch today as the boss is on holiday.

because you always feel you should be pacing yourself and yet your brain is screaming "run faster! It's a 10K!".
Hope it goes well and isn't too hot.

My brain would be going "10K? 10 FUCKING K? Oh god I'm going to die. Where's the bus stop?".

I literally haven't run since I was about 14* and did cross-country for school. Even then I was a 10 a day smoker.
*Other than being chased by dogs.

we took him last week, and it was great fun - he kept clapping when other kids dive bombed into the pool though, so we're dreading him being able to do that - think he's going to be one of the more 'spirited' children (i.e. a little turd) unless we beat some manners into him.
but I'm mainly happy because I get a lie in of 2 hours on sunday - until 8 am, mr vitC will take baby at 6 and let me sleep. bliss.

After getting up at 6am to have Honey on toast, followed by a leisurely jog along the coast. I used to run at night but I'm noticing a huge difference in doing it first thing, seem to have a lot more energy which really is no surprise now.
Just getting on top of things at work then a relaxing weekend in the sun ahead of me...

Having recorded everything at the end of April, the band is finally reconvening to mix all the tracks and make them sound nice. I'm so glad we're finally getting round to it - "leave it a couple of weeks and come back to it fresh," we said...and then over a month later...
Though conversely I am a little concerned after one of my housemates went to the hopsickle with chest pains last night. His girlfriend said they were keeping him in overnight and is presumably going back to check on him this morning - I'm assuming that no news is either good news or she hasn't got up yet.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 10:06, Reply)
I know so many people who don't bother leaving time between, or take a rough copy of their tracks home before mixing and it inevitably ruins the completed record every* time.
*Even though I did it and my latest recordings are my best yet.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 10:43, Reply)
I gave it one listen and everything sounded awful; didn't sound like us at all. I also did a preliminary mix of one of the songs for my folks to listen to, but apart from that we've not touched them since the recording.
Hopefully this will bode well. Having said that, I already know there's at least one or two vocals I want to re-record tomorrow.
