I thought The Simpsons Movie was OK the first time I watched it
Now it's growing on me, getting funnier every time.

And I've only ever turned off 2 films without them finishing - Superbad & Grotesque

What I hated about it
was how "special" they were trying to make it. Weird special animations, extreme colour overload, every joke pushed as hard as bleeding possible and dragged for extra laughs. Seemed to me like they were almost trying to convince themselves that the movie was brilliant, but it simply lost the charm of the older series.

I've turned off
Driving Miss Daisy, the shit one about the man who drove his lawnmower across America, and the Grinch.

Mostly though I have a compulsion to finish them- same with books

But you saw Displacement Activity right through to the end, right?

yeah I almost always finish books even if they're hair tearingly dull
with the exception of the Devil Wears Prada. I took it on holiday and got really angry with how shit it was that I threw it in the pool.

At the risk of being stoned to death
I couldn't finish LOTR.

In my defence, it was a massive book with all 3 of them in one. I'll get it with 3 seperate books next time
